Music, Music, Music!

From 12th to 15th November, RHYTHMIC ROOTS will be up and running at The Actor's Studio's new venue in Lot 10. It's been a frenzy of rushing to KLPAC after work in the midst of rush hour, memorizing songs and choreography... but it's been a blast so far, so no complaints.
We've had a 2 week break for Raya, so the madness shall continue next Monday. My last post had some pre-photoshoot pictures for this production. Finally, here are the 'actual' ones... some of them anyways. The rest are all on Facebook. Happy viewing!

Joe Hasham... our beloved Director

Joe mucking around... What's new? :)

Lex... our amazing but torturous Choreographer

The Sopranos!
The Young KL Singers crew

Last weekend, Harish came back from Singapore for a quick visit. So of course we had to meet up for a 'quiet' night out. We started off very nicely and quietly in T-Club with the usual suspects i.e. Raelene, Marcel, Rakesh, Danielle, Susie and Jyanthi. Raelene and Marcel left early because Rae was rather blasted, hehe, as usual.
The rest of us adjourned to TSB for Round 2 - so much for a quiet night! Harish joined us for one drink, then headed off to meet his girlfriend who was in Zouk. 30 minutes later, Harish comes waltzing back into TSB... too lazy to go all the way to KL. Haha, that clown I tell you!

Good times!

As you might know, I'm part of this group called the Young KL Singers. Every year, we hold an internal event called 'Live on Stage'. It's basically a talentime of sort, where we get to know each other informally. It was wicked fun with performances by a potential boy-band, crazy aunties and a boy with blue hair - go figure!

Like I mentioned earlier, The Actor's Studio has a new venue. Last Friday, my colleagues and me decided to go on a little excursion to recce the place for a future British Council event. I was mighty excited since it was my first time on the KL Monorail... whheee!

Us @ Bukit Nanas station

We had lunch @ Bon Ton
food was so-so, but the ambience was horrendous

Met Ian who showed us the new studio, we loved it!

Also checked out YTL's Rooftop restaurant... we loved it too!

One last pitstop before heading back into the office...

can name the unnamable and communicate the unknowable.

I've Gotta Feeling

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Last Saturday, we had our 2009's pruduction photoshoot at KLPAC at ... ugh ... 9:30am! Let me just tell you that it's not easy getting all made-up and set for a photoshoot that early in the morning.
I was out the previous night with my Kat and Deb. But had to insist we ended the night early just so I wouldn't look like a train wreck the next day. I hate having an early night on Fridays... it's such a waste, don't you think?
Anyhow, by the grace of God, I was there on time on Saturday... and I even had time to help some others with their make-up. I'm pretty proud of myself.

Me hiding in the background and being camera shy right before a photoshoot... Ironic?

The not-camera-shy ones...

Our shoot ended around noon and we headed to Jalan Ipoh to stuff ourselves silly... Why? We had rehearsals from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Talk about a long day... The food was alright, a bit too 'Chinese' for me, but food is food, so can't complain too much. I spent the rest of Saturday chilling at home as I was absolutely knackered.

On Sunday, I went to the Digital Mall to buy my boyfriend a new cell phone. He lost his phone while travelling in Madrid. I was planning to get him one for his birthday anyways, so thought I'd just bring is forward a couple of months. I got him the Nokia E66... and he loves it. We're both loyal Nokia users and not too great fans of the Blackberry and I-Phone (just in case you were wondering why I'm being so not-so-cool-and-up-to-date...)

Drivers on the road have really been bugging me lately. They always have actually, but I've finally decided to do something about it. Very subtly of course. Click the picture below to see what I've been up to :)

My Director had some extra Black Eye Peas concert tickets, so I got 2 off him. Haven't been to a concert in ages, since Justin Timberlake & Christina Aquilera in 2003. And my boyfriend has never ever been to a concert. This is gonna be wicked!

Thought of the Day :
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Friday, Saturday, Saturday to Sunday

Get get get get get with us
You know what we say
Party everyday
Pa pa pa party everyday
And I'm feeling
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good good night

August... August... August...

It flew by...

And now we're in September already. The only glamorous events that took place in August were all work related. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I actually enjoyed all of them! OMG, what is happening to me!!

Aside from that, I celebrated Merdeka at Terry's place. My boyfriend lost his cell phone in Madrid which led to me getting him an early birthday pressie... a new cell phone, duh! He's now back home with me and things are starting to go back to normal, except for my hectic schedule of rehearsals at KLPac.

Currently, I'm working on a major project called PREMIER SKILLS and is in collaboration with the Barclays Premier League. I'm really excited about it because we're bringing down 4 Premier League coaches, who will be training 44 local coaches. The main aim of this project is for these local coaches to cascade everything they have learned onto school children, teenagers and even adults they go on to coach. It's all about education through sport really :)

Here's a quick and condensed rundown of my oh-so-cool work related events in August...

Official Opening of
Instant Cafe's House of Art & Ideas (a.k.a. CHAI)

PECHA KUCHA Night Vol. 7 at Urbanattic, Caps Square

What the Duck?! at Palatte Palate

KLue + 5 featuring Pete Teo's 15Malaysia at Trew Brew
